Terms
The terms that apply when you use WoW Lab.
By using WoW Lab you agree to these terms. If you don't, don't use it.
Using WoW Lab
WoW Lab is a combat simulator for World of Warcraft. An account is required. The free plan runs sims in your browser and costs nothing. Paid plans add access to our shared compute pool.
We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment. World of Warcraft, its game data, and related trademarks are property of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.
Accounts
Sign-in goes through third-party OAuth (Discord or GitHub). You're responsible for keeping the linked account secure on the provider's side. One account per person, don't share, sell, or transfer accounts. WoW Lab isn't aimed at users under 13. We may suspend or block accounts for abuse, security issues, or legal reasons.
Payments
Paid plans and boost packs are processed by Paddle, the merchant of record. Paddle handles billing, invoices, and tax on our behalf.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancellation, payment method updates, and pausing are all one-click in your billing settings. Cancel any time before the next renewal and you won't be charged again.
Subscription fees are non-refundable. Boost packs are one-time purchases and also non-refundable, but if a boosted sim runs unreasonably short we automatically refund the boost back to your balance as a courtesy.
Content you share
You keep ownership of rotations and other content you create. By publishing it (marking a rotation public, for example), you grant us a non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute it within WoW Lab. Other users can fork a public rotation, which makes an independent copy on their account. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, but it doesn't cascade: existing forks, copies others have already saved, and provider backups stay where they are.
Acceptable use
- Don't attack, scrape, or overload the service.
- Don't bypass security or abuse authentication.
- Don't share, sell, or transfer your account.
- Don't upload illegal, harmful, or copyright-infringing content.
- Don't use WoW Lab to harass, dox, or threaten anyone.
We enforce rate limits and decide what counts as abuse. Thresholds change with load and we don't publish them. We can throttle, suspend, or block any account that crosses them.
Service availability
The service is provided as-is and as-available. We don't promise uptime, accuracy, fitness for any purpose, or error-free results. Sims are an approximation. Verify before betting your raid spot on them. Game data shifts with every patch and tuning pass, so an old sim can drift out of date once Blizzard touches the spec.
Open source
The engine, the site, and the Discord bot are open source under the PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 license. You can read, fork, and contribute on GitHub. The license forbids commercial use of the source code itself. The hosted service at wowlab.gg is governed by these terms instead.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from using WoW Lab. If something does go wrong, total liability is limited to what you've paid us in the last 3 months (which for the free plan is zero).
Termination
You can delete your account any time in account settings. We can terminate access for the reasons listed in Accounts and Acceptable use. Public content you've shared (like a rotation) becomes inaccessible after deletion. Forks are independent: if someone forked your rotation before you deleted it, their fork keeps existing on their account. Provider backups may also persist for a while. See Privacy for the details. Sections that need to outlive the account (Open source, Liability) survive termination.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes include price increases, removal of paid features, or meaningful changes to data handling, liability, or dispute terms. Material changes show in the update date above and take effect immediately for new signups. Paid subscribers with an active subscription when a material change is posted have 30 days to accept or reject the change without penalty. During that 30-day window, continued use does not by itself mean acceptance; after the window ends, continued use means you accept the updated version. If you reject a material change, you may cancel your subscription and keep access through the period you already paid for unless the law requires a different remedy.
